The Ohio Educational Technology Conference Introduces Gamification at their Event with SCANTrivia Interactive Name Badges

Over the past 4 years The Ohio Educational Technology Conference has used the SCANTrivia gamification platform to drive traffic to their exhibitor booths. This year they added a twist by introducing the Interactive Name Badges (INB). The INBs increased attendee participation which, in turn, drove more traffic to the exhibitors.

The INBs also served as a great ice-breaker between attendees as they learned more about one another playing the SCANTrivia activity, 2 Truths and a Lie. As attendees scanned each other’s badge they would be challenged to guess the lie out of the 3 potential truths. This opened conversations and gave the attendees an opportunity to meet one another.

2 Truths and a Lie was launched in 2017 and used in a corporate environment first by Pfizer for several of their sales meetings where it was white-label licensed under the name SCANChat. Since then, the SCANTrivia gamification platform has been licensed with the INB component enable by many other corporate entities such as illumina, Pandora, Allscripts and TransUnion to name a few.
