The SCANVenger Hunt gamification platform is quickly becoming the best way to increase attendee interaction at conferences and trade shows

The web-based mobile gamification platform provides multiple ways to create engagement through the use of your smart phone and QR codes. The Wynn and Encore hotels in Las Vegas were both used by two Fortune 500 companies to host simultaneous conferences with the SCANVenger Hunt gamification platform. Since Las Vegas has a gaming environment  each company thought it would be cool to use the  SCANVenger Hunt to reinforce presentation materials while providing interactive fun in between sessions.

Although the two companies, VHA inc. and Novation, had different conference themes they both used SCANVenger Hunt posters, table signs and Interactive Game Wall to drive key points about their conferences. Novation even went as far as placing the SCANVenger Hunt codes on coffee sleeves, poker chips and napkins.

The Interactive Game Wall, an 8’x10′ retractable fabric pop up, has 30 QR codes which lead to questions when scanned with your smartphone. The IGW not only provided great interactivity for attendees but it also created real estate for Novation’s main sponsor to gain exposure with a concentrated audience in an area with extended dwell. Both IGWs had a per player dwell time average of 12 minutes with scan activity of at least 15 questions.

VHA  focused on making sure the content reinforced their workshops and sessions by allowing participants to earn points once they answered questions correct that were relevant to each presentation. Melissa Wurm, Senior Director at VHA, stated it was fantastic and a great way to drive engagement at each session.
