Annual TSAE Conference uses SCANVenger Hunt Platform to Drive Vendor Engagement
The Texas Society of Association Executives ( TSAE) showcased a new mobile game during their September 23 – 25 annual TSAE conference held in Irving, TX. called SCANVenger Hunt. The attendees used their smartphones to scan QR codes that were linked to the SCANVenger Hunt questions as they searched throughout the hotel. Once the code was scanned they answered the multiple choice question that appeared. By finding up to 36 signs and answering the questions, attendees were entered into a drawing for prizes.
Beth Brooks, President of TSAE noted that the game was a wonderful way for attendees to interact with each other, with sponsors and vendors, see the hotel property, and to learn about the meeting. “Using this smartphone technology appealed to all our members — we had a very large number of members playing the game. It was a huge success and the attendees were really excited about it”.
The exhibitors felt the game helped encourage face time with the attendees as they were prompted to ask questions about their services in order to obtain points. “This was an amazing technology to get people to interact. Even our existing clients learned more about us through SCANVenger Hunt,” said Clark Jones, exhibitor with EnSYNC corp. George Miller exhibitor with Higher Logic stated “The SCANVenger Hunt has really drove a lot of traffic to our booth and has made it friendly for people to open for conversation as they participate.”
Brooks noted that this type of gaming would be ideal for any meeting or trade show. She stated “It’s new, interactive and educational, and very affordable”.
